In keeping with our interest in education and training in liver surgery, we have set up a liver database, with dedicated data managers who prospectively collect data on our patients undergoing liver surgery or transplantation. This database, we hope, will allow us to analyze trends, complications and results in order to improve clinical care in the future.
The Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology section provides the most up-to-date imaging modalities and complex advanced radiological interventions under one roof. In fact, we have specialists who have been dealing with hundreds of very complex liver patients for the last 10-12 years. Their experience is of such magnitude that we do procedures not available in most places, and other clinicians come for training.
These include Transjugular and Percutaneous Liver Biopsy, Portal Vein Embolisation (PVE), Trans Arterial Radio &Chemoembolisation (TACE & TARE) & Percutaneous microwave /Radio Frequency Ablation of Tumours (RFA). Of course, routine investigations and procedures like therapeutic Endoscopy, ERCP, Drug Monitoring, Thromboelastogram (TEG), the Latest Ultrasound with Doppler, CT Scan, MRI Scan, 3D reconstruction & liver volumetry is frequently performed.
